Jacob Smith, MS
Jacob Smith is a Human Factors Engineer with Humanproof, where he supports U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Defense programs with expertise in biomechanics, ergonomics, human performance, and user-centered system design. He uses Tecnomatix Process Simulate Human to conduct 3D human modeling and evaluate system designs against human engineering standards. With more than five years of experience in biomechanical research and human modeling, Jacob ensures mission-critical systems are optimized for safety, efficiency, and usability.
Previously, Jacob was a Biomechanics Research Engineer at Valor Biomechanics, where he developed research study protocols, led human subject data collection, applied data-driven methods, and validated wearable sensors for biomechanical signal capture. His work has also been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals advancing biomechanical science.
Jacob earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology – Biomechanics from the University of Texas at Austin and his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University.
