Jacob Smith, MS
Jacob Smith is a Human Factors Engineer with HumanProof, LLC, where he supports U.S. Coast Guard and DoD programs with expertise in biomechanics, ergonomics, human performance, and user-centered system design. He leverages Tecnomatix Process Simulate Human to conduct 3D human modeling and evaluate system design against human engineering standards. He also brings 5 years of experience in biomechanical research, and human modeling to ensure mission-critical systems are optimized for safety, efficiency, and usability.
Previously, Jacob was a Biomechanics Research Engineer at Valor Biomechanics, where he developed research study protocols, led human subject data collection efforts, applied data-driven methods, and communicated research findings to validate wearable sensors for biomechanical signal capture. Additionally, Jacob has published multiple biomechanical research studies in peer-reviewed journals.
Jacob earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology – Biomechanics from the University of Texas at Austin and his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. He continues to apply his expertise to support innovation in defense-focused human factors engineering.
