Business Development & Capture Specialist – SkillBridge
Humanproof is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development & Capture Specialist through the DoD SkillBridge program to help us identify, pursue, and win government contracts and subcontracts. This role goes beyond research—you will play a hands-on role in the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification and pipeline tracking to outreach, relationship building, and assisting in proposal strategy and contract acquisition.
You will work directly with leadership to drive growth in the federal and defense markets, while also supporting the Human Systems Integration (HSI) team with documentation research when needed. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of government contracting who wants to learn how to win work, close deals, and build strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities :
Primary – Business Development & Capture (Core Function)
- Identify, track, and qualify federal and DoD contract and subcontract opportunities (RFPs, RFIs, Sources Sought, IDIQs, GWACs, etc.).
- Maintain and update the business development pipeline with real-time accuracy.
- Perform opportunity analysis, including contract vehicle requirements, small business set-asides, NAICS/PSC codes, and incumbent data.
- Research and identify key POCs, contracting officers, program managers, and teaming partners.
- Conduct outreach preparation (emails, talking points, capability statements, introductory decks).
- Support relationship development with primes, subcontractors, and agency stakeholders.
- Assist with developing capture strategies and win themes based on market intelligence and historical data.
- Track competitor activity, market trends, and upcoming budget allocations or spending forecasts.
- Support proposal development by assisting with past performance research, teaming coordination, and compliance checklists.
- Help drive opportunities from early-stage qualification through proposal submission and award.
Secondary – HSI Documentation & Technical Research
- Gather and verify vendor-furnished information (VFI), drawings, specs, and technical data for HSI analysis.
- Research standards and compliance references (MIL-STD-1472, ASTM F1166, etc.).
- Support senior analysts with preliminary HSI data collection and content organization.
- Maintain organized digital libraries and reference repositories to support cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Current active-duty service member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Familiarity with the federal contracting lifecycle (pre-RFP, capture, proposal, award).
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Professional communication skills for both written outreach and verbal interaction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online research tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience (Bonus, Not Required)
- Experience in business development, capture, contracting, or market research in a government setting.
- Exposure to proposal development, pipeline management, or teaming strategies.
- Familiarity with SAM.gov, FPDS, GovWin, USASpending.gov, agency portals, etc.
- Understanding of HSI, Human Factors, or technical documentation processes.
